Sanyang Smiles, The Gambia

Photo by Kathryn Burrington of TravelWithKat.com

“The Gambia is justifiable known as ‘The smiling coast of Africa’ as everywhere you go you will find a smile to greet you.

These two ladies, cleaning fish at Sanyang at the leisurely pace that is typical of this little country, were only too pleased to laugh and smile for my camera. As well as always smiling, The Gambian people are colourful, laid-back and always seem to be happy no matter how little they have. I love this image as it brings back the sites, sounds and even the smells of The Gambia – a small country with a big heart.”

I challenge Suzanne (www.the-travelbunny.com) and Abu (www.zarabu.wordpress.com) to complete a country each.

Thank you Kathryn for a stunning photo that really brings a smile to your face.  Good luck to Suzanne and Abu!
