Picture The World Project, Mongolia

Photo by Corinne Vail of reflectionsenroute.com

Mongolia is a land of wide open spaces, friendly smiles, and a nomadic lifestyle that goes back centuries. It is said that Genghis Khan, the most famous Mongolian of all, left his mark on many countries as well as in many families’ DNA. When I think of Mongolia, I think of Russian trucks, dirt tracks, horses and goats, ugly Russian buildings, yurts (gers), dumplings, and yaks. I hope this photo captures the overall feeling of Mongolia the keeping of a traditional lifestyle, embracing technology, and welcoming us with their open doors.

Thanks for sharing Corinne.  I love this photo for Mongolia, the modern world is always just around the corner.
