Picture The World Project, Egypt

Egypt PTWP

Photo by Gavin London of thedepartureboard.com

With two photos by Si Salter on the board it’s about time I joined the  Picture The World Project board.

When you think of Egypt, it always conjures up images of the Pyramids, mummies, the Sphinx, Cleopatra and the River Nile. However, even with these potent symbols of Egypt buried on my memory card (well, perhaps not Cleopatra!), I chose this picture to symbolise Egypt. I was lucky enough to visit Luxor Temple at night, and chanced upon this avenue of minature sphinx. I think this picture shows what is great about Egypt, with its rich history available to all, day or night.  Some call Luxor ’the world’s greatest open air museum’.

I would like to challenge two fabulous travel bloggers Jeannie Mark (of nomadicchick.com) and Sam (of nomadicsamuel.com).

Thanks Gav, it’s about time you joined the party! Nice shot for Egypt.

  1. Sam and Nic says:

Those miniature sphinx are cute! I like what you did to the angle of your pictures. It has some patterns and the perspective is good! You can enter this photo in any photography contest.

  2. Still following! This series has produced some excellent photos, and this is one of them.
