When people think of Colorado, they think snow. It’s my native land and it’s the first thing I thought of, so I’m not mad at you!
Ice Lakes is one of the most insanely beautiful and colorful places in Colorado, if not the country itself. The lakes are in a rather huge basin running around 12,000 to 13,500 feet above sea level. And yes, those are the real colors of the water. It’s a somewhat remote area, but the four hour hike is absolutely worth the sweat it takes to get there.
I chose this photo to serve as a reminder that the summer’s a great time to visit Colorado as well.
I’d like to nominate James from FlyIcarusFly.com and Toni from ReclaimingMyFuture.com
Thanks Dave, what a wonderful view. I would love to ski Colorado one day!
