Botswana is a place of true natural beauty and has emerged as a leader in protecting its natural environment and wildlife for all to enjoy. The Chobe National Park is the county’s first National Park and sprawls over 2,270 sq miles with more large animals than you can ever imagine. Quite literally look in all directions and your field of view will be filled with all the African animals you were told about as a child.
This shot was taken in 2005 while taking a rest day from whitewater kayaking on the Zambezi River in Zambia. The trip was amazing with long drives through South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Botswana. Botswana truly shined for its natural beauty and plentiful wildlife. I nominate Cailin O’Neil (travelyourself.ca) and Matt Gibson (matt-gibson.org) to complete a country each.
Thanks Bryon for this fantastic opportunistic photo, blue skies and the Elephants of Botswana. What more could you ask for? Over to Cailin and Matt.
